How The Environment Played A Key Role On The Completion Of...

The environment played a key role in the completion of both activities. According to the OTPH-3 an environment is defined as â€Å"External physical and social conditions that surround the client and in which the client’s daily life occupations occur† (AOTA. 2014, pg. S12). The first major inhibitor regarding the physical environment was that fact that the children were not placed in their normal classroom. Due to a recent mold issue, the students of the Wyoming Valley West Middle School were unexpectedly asked to move to the Wyoming Valley West High School. Since neither the students, nor the teachers were used to the classroom, they had a difficult time finding items such as paper towels. Getting a paper towel is something that sounds like a simple task, however when someone does not know their may around the environment they are in, it may become more difficult. Another physical inhibitor of the environment was that it was very tight. The desks were very close togeth er, and it was nearly impossible for anyone to walk by without bumping a student’s desk. Regarding social conditions, there was one major inhibitor: the amount of teachers. While observing the students while they completed their crafts, it was noticeable that there were constantly older adults watching over them. There were at least 12 older adults in the room, compared to 13 children. Whenever one of the aides or teachers would walk by, it was noticeable that the children became very cautious, as if they did notShow MoreRelatedAction Research Project Financial Management Essay1255 Words   |  6 Pagesfocal part of an managers or organizational production more effective and fulfilling striving to enrich the environments that work. Ethical Effective Business Communications †Free Samples to Students

Question: Discuss about the Ethical Effective Business Communications. Answer: Introduction: Recently, it was brought to the attention of the company that there had been an inconsistency in the information which was being provided to the prospective clients of the company by the company agents. In order to clarify upon this issue, this memo has been drafted and in this memo, the policy changes have been highlighted, which includes the recommendations on different issues. The agents of the company have undertaken some steps, where they have published material on behalf of the company, which has not been approved. The first and foremost requirement for the agents of the company is that there is a need for getting an approval from the company for any kind of marketing material which is prepared for the advertising and the local marketing. There is also a need to ensure that ethical marketing is being undertaken by the company. Ethical marketing ensures that the customer interest in products and services are generated, a strong customer relationship and interest is built and a value for stakeholders is created by incorporating the environmental and social considerations in the products, as well as, in the promotions (Lexicon, 2017). So, not only the advertisements of the company have to be approved, they have to be compliant with the ethical marketing practices. The next recommendation for the agents is that they have to make certain that they are properly informed regarding each of the institutions, along with the courses which are delivered and their ranking status. There is also a need for the agents to represent each of the institution in a fair and equal manner. The company has to be objective and fair and the needs of the students have to be kept supreme when information related to a particular institution is being shared (Australian Government, 2017). So, it is advised to the agents of the company to prepare an unbiased data, where the details of the institutions are created on uniform basis and each and every aspect of the institutions, have been detailed. This would allow the student to easily go through the data in an unbiased manner, as none of the institutions would be presented in a better or bad light, owing to the uniformity in the data. Further, the ranking would help the student in making the decision about which institution is right for them. Another key concern for the company has been the lack of clarity in the accommodation advice (Edinburgh University Students' Association, 2017). Hence, it is recommended to the agents of the company that when the advice related to the accommodation is granted to the clients, it meets their expectations, the information is accurate and the promise is based on experience of the agent. In other words, the accommodation advice has to be based on the locality, the size of accommodation, construction quality, rent amount, furnished, government approved, safe surroundings and the local law taxes (Ahonen, 2012). There is also a need to give the transportation advice in a manner which is not only reliable but easily understandable, covering each and every point. This has to include the estimated costs, the benefits available and the concessions (Greener Journeys, 2014). This is because transportation is a key requirement for the people coming to Australia for staying, and along with finding a proper accommodation, the need for knowledge of transportation channels is also crucial. This is due to the fact that the student would have to move from the accommodation to the college, and even to other places and to make their stay in the nation smooth, it is crucial that they are imparted with all the requisite information in a proper and timely manner. The last recommendation for the agents working for the company relates to the information relating to child care services. This information has to include the childcare costs and the duration of each of these services, which would include the university breaks and the opening hours. Through the child care services, the referrals are provided to the staff families, the faculty and to the student who seek early care and education program. This information can be provided through an appointment, telephone of email (Arizona State University, 2017). Even though these are merely recommendations, it would be deemed as best practice for the agents to adopt these in their work, so that the issues which have been brought forward in the past are not repeated and uniformity is attained in the practices which are adopted by the company. National Discipline Awardee free essay sample

â€Å"A person is not measured by his accomplishments or possessions, but how he deals with people and how deep his relationship with God is. † Young as I am, I have been taught by my God fearing parents to value everything – big or small – that we have. I am not from a prestigious clan or a well-off family but I feel privileged because I was able to see life more meaningful and worth living. It’s all because of my loved-ones that keeps me going. Amid the crucial days that come my way, I would be standing there because I believe that tests won’t be given to me if I cannot surpass them. Being chosen as a National Discipline Awardee is another challenge for me. Challenge because I have to prove everybody that I deserve that award. Nevertheless, they would probably look at me with their eyes stick on everything that I will do and on decisions that I will make. I have nothing to do. I just have to be myself. I don’t have to be somebody else just to please everybody. I am confident that what I have right now is the fruit of what my parents taught me ever since childhood. The virtues that they implanted in my heart helped me a lot in achieving my goals and dreams. And now, it’s my turn to give them something that they can be proud of. This award would definitely give them so much joy. And as for me, it’s indeed an honor. But I know, it doesn’t stop there, it is better if I could share something for our society especially for the youth. I have often wondered how some of our youth today were greatly influenced by the modern trend. Some lives have gone astray and dreams of a good future vanished. All because of the bad vices that they have been practicing which they learned from the BAD influences in our environment. My heart bleeds every time I will see parents working so hard just to give their child all the things they need. Yet, their deeds often neglected. I guess, what is lacking, is the discipline in our youth sector. Our teachers never failed to remind us that resorting to drugs, alcohol, premarital sex and other form of vices is an immoral act or habit. And this will definitely ruin their lives and bring nothing but trouble. So instead of doing so, I learned to respect y God-given life, and nurture the talents that I have. â€Å"Discipline† of the youth, is what we need, and that is being pure in thoughts, in words and in deeds. It has been said that you may whatever you resolve to be. You must be determined to be something in the world, and you will be someone or something. â€Å"I cannot† never accomplished anything. â€Å"I’ll try† has wrought wonders. Opportunities – that would direct my lives, trials – that would teach me lessons, and decision-making – where I can apply all lessons I’ve learned from my daily experiences, will always be just around the corner, playing a vital part in my personal life. But what really matters, is that I know I have this determination and will to overcome difficulties and hardships. I may not be from a well-off family nor has deformity in my physical aspect; I believe I would never get tired of trying and trying again. For it is only in the minds of my detractors that I can’t do it. Failure is not a hindrance for me to stop believing and dreaming rather I make it an inspiration for me to try and strive my best even more and have enough perseverance to attain success. Lastly, I learned to think less of myself. I found out that there should be selflessness and diminish in my heart selfishness. For I believe that it is only through selfless love that I can find true happiness. Reaching out for others especially in the needs of time and sacrificing my personal advantages or desires for the good of the masses gives me fulfillment in my heart. Sharing my time, talents as well as blessings with my brothers and sisters is the best way to say â€Å"Thank you† to God. Above all this, I would like to put emphasis that being a good role model for my fellow youth is simply what I can do to make this country a better place to live in.

Stede Bonnet, the Gentleman Pirate Biography

Stede Bonnet, the Gentleman Pirate Biography Major Stede Bonnet (1688-1718) was known as the Gentleman Pirate. Most of the men associated with the Golden Age of Piracy were reluctant pirates. They were desperate but skilled sailors and brawlers who either could not find honest work or who were driven to piracy by the inhuman conditions on board merchant or navy ships at the time. Some, like Black Bart Roberts, were captured by pirates, forced to join, and then found the life to their liking. Bonnet is the exception: he was a wealthy planter in Barbados who decided to outfit a pirate ship and set sail for riches and adventure. It is for this reason that he is often referred to as the Gentleman Pirate. Early Life Stede Bonnet was born in 1688 to a family of wealthy English landowners on the island of Barbados. His father died when Stede was only six years old, and he inherited the family estates. He married a local girl, Mary Allamby, in 1709. They had four children, of which three survived to adulthood. Bonnet served as a major in the Barbados militia, but it is doubtful that he had much training or experience. Sometime in early 1717, Bonnet decided to abandon his life on Barbados completely and turn to a life of piracy. Why he did is unknown for certain, but Captain Charles Johnson, a contemporary, claimed that Bonnet found â€Å"some discomforts in a married state† and that his â€Å"disorder of mind† was well known to the citizens of Barbados. The Revenge Bonnet purchased a seaworthy ten-gun sloop, named her the Revenge, and set sail. He apparently implied to local authorities that he was planning on serving as a privateer or even a pirate-hunter while he equipped his vessel. He hired a crew of 70 men, making it clear to them that they would be pirates, and found himself some skilled officers to run the ship, as he himself had no knowledge of sailing or pirating. He had a comfortable cabin, which he filled with his favorite books. His crew thought him eccentric and had little respect for him. Piracy Along the Eastern Seaboard Bonnet jumped into piracy with both feet, quickly attacking and taking several prizes along the eastern seaboard from the Carolinas to New York in summer of 1717. He turned most of them loose after plundering them but burned a ship from Barbados because he didn’t want news of his new career to reach his home. Sometime in August or September, they sighted a mighty Spanish man-of-war and Bonnet ordered an attack. The pirates were driven off, their ship was badly beaten and half of the crew dead. Bonnet himself was badly injured. Collaboration with Blackbeard Not long afterward, Bonnet met Edward Blackbeard Teach, who was just then setting out as a pirate captain in his own right after having served for some time under the legendary pirate Benjamin Hornigold. Bonnets men begged the capable Blackbeard to take over the Revenge from the unstable Bonnet. Blackbeard was only too happy to oblige, as the Revenge was a good ship. He kept Bonnet on board as a guest, which seemed to suit the still-recovering Bonnet just fine. According to the captain of a ship plundered by the pirates, Bonnet would walk the deck in his nightgown, reading books and muttering to himself. The Protestant Caesar Sometime in spring of 1718, Bonnet struck out on his own again. By then Blackbeard had acquired the mighty ship Queen Annes Revenge and didnt really need Bonnet anymore. On March 28, 1718, Bonnet once again bit off more than he could chew, attacking a well-armed merchantman named the Protestant Caesar off the coast of Honduras. Again, he lost the battle and his crew was extremely restless. When the encountered Blackbeard again soon after, Bonnets men and officers begged him to take command. Blackbeard obliged, putting a loyal man named Richards in charge of the Revenge and inviting Bonnet to stay on board the Queen Annes Revenge. Split with Blackbeard In June of 1718, the Queen Annes Revenge ran aground off the coast of North Carolina. Bonnet was sent with a handful of men to the town of Bath to try and arrange a pardon for the pirates if they would give up their thievery. He was successful, but when he returned he found that Blackbeard had double-crossed him, sailing off with some of the men and all of the loot. He had marooned the remainder of the men nearby, but Bonnet rescued them. Bonnet swore revenge, but never again saw Blackbeard (which was probably just as well for Bonnet). Captain Thomas Alias Bonnet rescued the men and set sail once again in the Revenge. He had no treasure or even food, so they needed to return to piracy. He wished to preserve his pardon, however, so he changed the name of the Revenge to the Royal James and referred to himself as Captain Thomas to his victims. He still didnt know anything about sailing and the de facto commander was quartermaster Robert Tucker. From July to September of 1718 was the high point of Bonnets piratical career, as he captured several vessels off of the Atlantic seaboard. Capture, Trial, and Execution Bonnets luck ran out on September 27, 1718. A patrol of pirate bounty hunters under the command of Colonel William Rhett (who was actually looking for Charles Vane) spotted Bonnet in the Cape Fear River inlet with two of his prizes. Bonnet tried to fight his way out, but Rhett managed to corner the pirates and capture them after a five-hour battle. Bonnet and his crew were sent to Charleston, where they were put on trial for piracy. They were all found guilty. 22 pirates were hanged on November 8, 1718, and more were hanged on November 13. Bonnet appealed to the governor for clemency and there was some discussion of sending him to England, but in the end, he, too, was hanged on December 10, 1718. Legacy of Stede Bonnet Stede Bonnets story is a sad one. He must have been a very unhappy man indeed on his prosperous Barbados plantation in order to chuck it all for the life of a pirate. Part of his inexplicable decision was leaving his family behind. After he set sail in 1717, they never saw one another again. Was Bonnet lured by the supposedly romantic life of the pirates? Was he nagged into it by his wife? Or was it all due to the disorder of mind that so many of his Barbados contemporaries noted in him? Its impossible to tell, but his eloquent plea for compassion to the governor seems to imply genuine regret and contrition. Bonnet wasnt much of a pirate. When they were working with others, such as Blackbeard or Robert Tucker, his crews managed to capture some genuine prizes, but Bonnets solo commands were marked by failure and poor decision making, such as attacking a fully armed Spanish man-o-war. He did not have a lasting impact on commerce or trade. The pirate flag usually attributed to Stede Bonnet is black with a white skull in the center. Below the skull is a horizontal bone, and on either side of the skull are a dagger and a heart. It is not known for certain that this is Bonnets flag, although he is known to have flown one in battle. Bonnet is remembered today by pirate historians and aficionados mostly for two reasons. First of all, he is associated with the legendary Blackbeard and is a part of that pirates larger story. Second, Bonnet was born wealthy, and as such is one of the extremely few pirates who deliberately chose that lifestyle. He had many options in his life, yet he chose piracy. Sources Cordingly, David. The Year of the Sheep - Hitsuji doshi

The Year of the Sheep - Hitsuji doshi 2015 is the year of the sheep. The Japanese word for sheep is hitsuji. The kanji character for sheep came from the shape of a sheeps head with two horns, four legs and a tail. Click here to learn the kanji character for sheep. Lamb is kohitsuji, shepherd is hitsujikai, wool is youmou. Sheep are rare in Japan since the climate of Japan, which is very humid, is not appropriate to raise sheep. Most wool and mutton are imported from Australia, New Zealand or Taiwan. The sheeps bleat is mee mee. Click this link to learn more about animal sounds. The Japanese have a custom of sending New Year Cards, called Nengajou. Most people use nengajou as sold by the Japan Postal Service. Each nengajou has a lottery number printed on the bottom of the card, and people who receive the cards can win prizes. The winning numbers are usually published in mid January. Although the prizes are rather small, people enjoy it as a part of New Years celebrations. Click this link to read my article, Writing New Years Cards. The Nengajou also come with a pre-printed postage stamp. There are 8 varieties of pre-printed stamps that one can choose from this year. The designs include New Years decorations, an eto animal (sheep in 2015), Disney characters, and so on. One of the stamp designs, which is a picture of a sheep, is becoming the talk of the Internet. Eto refers to the Chinese zodiac symbols. Unlike the Western Zodiac, which is divided into 12 months, the Asian Zodiac is divided into 12 years. Therefore, the last time a sheep appeared as an eto was in 2003. The stamp of 2003s negajou was a picture of a sheep, which is knitting. The picture of the sheep on 2015s stamp is wearing a scarf. There is an explanation on the Japanese Postal Service site that says, ç · ¨Ã£ ¿Ã£ â€¹Ã£ â€˜Ã£   Ã£ £Ã£ Å¸Ã£Æ'žãÆ'•ãÆ' ©Ã£Æ' ¼Ã£ Å'Ã¥ ®Å'æˆ Ã£ â€"㠁 ¾Ã£ â€"㠁Ÿã€‚ Amikake datta mafuraa ga kansei shimashita. (The scarf, which was in the middle of being made twelve years ago, is now finished.) This is the first time that the Japanese Postal Service made a design linked with a previous eto animal. They are hoping that people have fun with this year’s nengajou, and also fondly look back on the time that has passed. Like the astrological zodiac there are all sorts of things which influence individual people. The Japanese believe that people who are born in the same animal year share similar personality and character. People born in the year of the sheep are elegant, highly accomplished in the arts, passionate about nature. Check what year you were born in and what kind of personality your animal sign has. Twelve zodiac animals are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and boar. Compared to the other zodiac animals such as the snake (hebi) or horse (uma), there are not many expressions including the word sheep. Hitsuji no you (like sheep) means docile, sheepish. Hitsuji-gumo (sheep cloud) is a fluffy cloud, floccus. ç ¾Å Ã©   Ã§â€¹â€"肉 Youtou-Kuniku (sheeps head, dogs meat) is one of the Yoji-jukugo which means using a better name to sell inferior goods, crying wine and selling vinegar.

Summary - Essay Example Moreover, the estimated sales of trophy industry is $3 billion per year in the United States and Canada. After several years studying, Po Bronson and Merryman found out that awards can be motivational to children but â€Å"nonstop recognition will cause them to underachieve†. In addition, Carol Dweck, a psychology professor at Stanford University, found out that children like to hear praises but when they experienced failure, â€Å"they’d rather cheat than risk failing again.† Bradley Morris and Shannon Zentall found out in their experiment that children who heard praise tend to focus on their mistakes afterwards. Children can clearly distinguish between excellent work and poor work by age 4 or 5 and they give up because of knowing the fact that everyone will get rewarded but not due to their outperformance. Actually, kids enjoy competition. But if there are no difficulties and distinctions, there will be no motivation for them. Merryman says that if she was a baseball coach, she will only have three awards and give them a list which will guide them to achieve the awards. Moreover, she argues that when we punish children, â€Å"we must consider their individual levels of cognitive and emotional development.† But when it comes to reward, treat everyone differently is appropriate and will bring positive effect to the children. She also mentioned how a parent was angry when some league announced there will be no trophy be given out. Her anger came up because she knows that children value those trophies and will do anything to win them. Jean Twenge found that college students who have numbers of participation trophies think they only need to show up to achieve success. She said that failure is very common and children should learn this. Merryman concludes that we should teach children how to deal with failure and get rid of trophies since it is their right to lose (Merryman,

REVIEW OFRESOURCES on User experiance SMART CARDS Essay

REVIEW OFRESOURCES on User experiance SMART CARDS - Essay Example The development and further enhancement of each of the above mentioned technological advancements can truly be accredited to user experience. The importance of certain experience is such that without it no successful process module can ever be executed. In fact, it would not be incorrect to state that the mere advent of many a technologically advanced things is a resultant of the input of user experience. Seasoned tech-expert Philippe(2007) is quoted to have said the following about user experience: â€Å"User Experience is the Most Important Thing, it’s the Only Thing.† (Philippe, 2007) Thus, in order to streamline any new deliverable, its focus is sought to be in line with the user experience priorities. The larger is a group of user that adheres to a certain technology the further it exceeds in maintaining its existence. So, the inevitable aspect at hand for technologically advanced emerging modules is that they provide the best possible user experience for a certain targeted user group that makes an impact. If the users experience in that certain targeted group of users hits for your product, then you are sure to have a breakthrough of your product’s success in the extended market and user domain as well. Any of the successful companies of present day can be looked up. They invariably excel in their user experience ratings and customers/users are highly satisfied with the easy of usability that these services offer. The crux of the above discussion could be that the better a product is in terms of its interaction with users the more usable it is. This further on increases in popularity as its user experience enhances. USER EXPERIENCE ESSENTIALS Conceptually speaking, user experience is just another name for user interface as is quoted in the words of User Experience White Paper (2011) as follows: â€Å"The term user experience is often used as a synonym for usability, user interface, interaction experience, interaction design, customer experience, web site appeal, emotion, ‘wow effect’, general experience, or as an umbrella term incorporating all or many of these concepts. A clear description of UX would help to: ? Teach the basics of user experience ? Communicate the meaning of the term to people unfamiliar with it ? Clarify different perspectives on UX amongst UX researchers and practitioners ? Advance UX as a research field ? Ground practical UX work in commercial, industrial and government organizations† (User Experience White Paper, 2011) The FACTORS THAT EFFECT USER EXPERIENCE can be summarized into three main categories. These are as follows: Context With Respect to System and User: Context is a combination of change in social context, physical context, information context and task context. The people around you affect the physical condition in which a user is while using a device affects the information that is interpreted via the device affects and the parallel tasks being executed wit h the device’s usage also affect. User: The motivation of the user itself extremely affects the extent of user experience. If the users are motivated to use the module/device then the user experience would definitely grow. System: System’s properties, as perceived by a user, affect its user experien

Relationships between men and women Essay Example for Free

Relationships between men and women Essay It is a fact that household chores have always and still are mainly the womens job in the family. Washing and ironing are definitely thought of as more of womens role because only 18% of couples share this task equally. Men take more of a part in preparing dinner now with 35% claiming it is done equally but still 32% of couples still think it is the woman more. The most even chores among partners is looking after sick family members (45%) and food shopping (52%). 49% of men still do most of the repairs around the house. Relationships have changed and have become a lot more equal between men and women have become a lot more equal than the traditional patriarchal relationship. Men and women are sometimes thought to have very different roles around the house. For example because women are supposed to have a nurturing and kind personality it is thought that they should look after the children, but the man is thought to have a more practical mind and strong so he does DIY and is the main breadwinner. These are called segregated roles. Role conflict is when two or more of a person roles collide to make it impossible to fulfil them properly. For example, a woman could have three separate roles at one time as a mother, a friend and an employee. If she has to spend extra time at work and then has to look after a friend who is upset she may find it hard to find enough time for her family. When men and women stick to their gender segregated roles but make sure they both contribute equally, it is called joint conjugal roles. Young and Wilmott (1973) suggested that the main family form in Britain was the symmetrical family. This is a family that works on joint conjual roles. Their relationship was more democratic or equal Compared with past gender roles decision making and leisure activities were shared more. The family would become a lot more home centred as the men helped out more. This gave them things in common, which caused relationships between spouses to be warmer and more caring. Feminists do not agree with this symmetrical family theory. Feminists claim that it is not truly symmetrical because even if a man helps more, it is still only help and the main responsibility is still the womans. They also think that men will pick and choose their jobs and leave the women with the worst ones. Oakly (1974) is critical of this theory and does not think that the evidence is convincing. A husband that washes up at least once a week is regarded as helpful in the home to Young and Wilmott. She also argues that men that iron a piece of their own clothing, they are a good husband. Oakly thinks that there is no evidence of symmetry in the home even if the woman is employed she still does more housework. Jan Pahl (1989), in her study of money and power in marriages argues that they are still patriarchal. She found that men are more likely to make most decisions when she interviewed 120 married couples in Kent. Although she found that they share more decisions on what to spend the household income on compared to 30 years ago but however she points out that the man is still in charge of the finances and the wifes access to money. This could sometimes leave women and children living in poverty even when the man has a good income. There are a number of factors that have contributed to equality between the sexes including changes to laws such as the sex discrimination act and equal pay rights. These laws ensure equality in the workplace, which changes the way people think and makes women believe that they deserve the same rights at home. Now girls are getting the same standard of education as boys and the same opportunities which means that women are getting good careers that are equal to mens. Also thins like media with soaps and celebrities promoting equality in the home and cost of living makes both partners work contributes to the changing attitudes. Another way of measuring equality instead of domestic labour is through things like decision-making, finance and power in the home.

In The Fruit at the Bottom of the Bowl by Ray Bradbury and The Tell Ess

In The Fruit at the Bottom of the Bowl by Ray Bradbury and The Tell Tale Hear by Edgar Allen Poe, both authors have to convince the reader that the main characters is mad. How do they do that? Which portrayal is more effective? Why? 1.The two stories that are going to be compared and contrasted are 'The Fruit at the Bottom of the Bowl' by Ray Bradbury and 'The Tell Tale Heart' by Edgar Allen Poe. Both stories are about murder and how the murderers react after the killings. In the story 'The Tell Tale Heart,' Edgar Allen Poe writes about the murderer's obsession and fear of an old man's clouded eye that drives him to kill. When officers of the law come to question him, he imagines noises from the dead dismembered body, which forces him to admit his crime. In the second story, 'The Fruit at the Bottom of the Bowl' by Ray Bradbury another murder has been committed. The author uses flash backs to explain where the murderer has been so that he could wipe out all traces of his fingerprints and presence at the house, his search for gloves then his obsession with cleaning everywhere, which eventually leads to his arrest. Both stories are about obsessions, in one the obsession caused the murder, in the other the obsession was with cleaning away all traces of the murderer is present at the scene of the crime after the murder. My aim will be to show how both murderers were mad, or became mad. 2.In the story 'The Tell Tale Heart,' the murderer has no motive for murder other than his obsession. One of the old man's eyes, was clouded over and resembled a vulture's eye, so the narrator could have been mad even before he killed the old man. In 'The Fruit at the Bottom of the Bowl,' the murderer was driven to jealousy... ...chandelier with its long pearls of rainbow glass.' He becomes haunted by Huxley hearing once more Huxleys voice, remembering all the touchings and gesturings, before loosing control. Acton sobbed heavily he hurled the pottery against the wall' Early in the morning after the murder Acton was found in the attic the entire house was polished to a brilliance everything glittered. Everything shone, everything was bright!. On the way out Acton polished the front door knob with his handkerchief.' This showed the way he lost control after the murder and his obsesiveness led him to madness by the thought of what he had done. Although he was not mad at the beginning we could see how he became more and more mad as the story went on. This is better than the other story 'The Tell-Tale heart' when the man showed sign of madness from the beginning of the story.

Leaving home Essay

Every child needs to be surrounded by tenderness and love in order to grow up to be a successful person. Parents try as much as they can to offer everything that is required for their baby to have a comfortable life. However, when their children become teenagers, they will want to prove their maturity in many different ways, and one of them is moving out to live independently. In my belief, leaving home to live independently cannot indicate the teenagers’ maturity base on three following reasons: young people are lack of maturity, they cannot receive support from family and school, and their finance will be unstable. First of all, teenagers cannot live independently due to the lack of maturity. At this age, teenagers cannot predict the consequences of their doings. They will be undisciplined and begin to do bad things. All moving out-teenagers will be overwhelmed with having to take care of themselves so they will easily to be depress. Therefore, they will start to get into bad habits such as drinking, abusing drugs, and smoking in order to release stress. Moreover, they are very young, so they are unable to have thought through decisions. Teenagers without their parents have no one there to tell them right or wrong and they will probably end up making bad choices. Furthermore, teenagers can easily be influenced by others especially bad people; therefore, they can entice into committing crimes. Because the rate of criminals, drinking, and drugs is so high for teenagers that move out early, young people should not live apart from their parents. Next, when they start to live independently so early, they will be lack of many strong support systems such as family and education. Preventing from starvation is a must; however, these young people do not have enough time to learn how to cook for themselves. Instead of eating cooked nutritious food, teenagers have to eat instant food or fast food which is not good for their health. Thus, they will miss the food made by their parents. Moreover, when they live away from home, they will have to do the work themselves. Cleaning, washing clothes, finding food and shelter will cost lots of time  and effort, so it will not leave so much time to do other things. Besides, moving out during teenage years, there will be a higher chance of dropping out of school because their time is all spent on working and doing housework. When their study is interrupted, they will be lack of knowledge, and this will prevent them from having a job, a better life and brighter future. Finally, living on their own, teenagers cannot receive the needed financial support from parents which leads to the financial instability. Having a place to stay, having enough money to live and to protect oneself require a lot of money. On the other hand, earning money is an extremely difficult task, and for young people, they also have to take on further challenges when finding a job. For instance, many jobs require lots of degrees and certificates; moreover, most places do not allowed youngsters to work under the legal working age which is an18 years old. Most early teenagers are very stubborn and they are scared of being embarrassed; therefore, they will not likely to ask for any help from anybody. So when they do not have enough money to support their lives, they will easily commit crimes. At a result, they become a burden to society. In conclusion, teenagers are the one who always want to prove themselves to the world. One of the most common methods is leaving home when they are very young and are not mature enough. However, living apart from parents during the teenage years is not a good indicator to prove their maturity. Living alone in the society is very dangerous to people especially teenagers, due to the fact that they can be influenced from many bad forces in real life. Therefore, I believe that the most wonderful time in life is teenage years and people should always value this period of time with their parents.

Compare and Contrast Characters from The Chosen Essays

Compare and Contrast Characters from The Chosen Essays Compare and Contrast Characters from The Chosen Essay Compare and Contrast Characters from The Chosen Essay Essay Topic: The Chosen For example, Mammons father raised his son the traditional Hashish way; proportioning the Talmud over any other knowledge and forbidding secular books. However, Mammon, with a brilliant mind and a thirst for knowledge, wanted to know more. Thus, he began to teach himself German, but remained dissatisfied. He then proceeded to abandon his wife and child to join a group of philosophers before dying at the estate of a Christian friend. The quick escalation in Mammons life from a traditional Hashish Jew to a philosopher who abandoned his family to become a philosopher, frightened Rebel Saunders. Reevess father agrees stating that Danny has a mind like Solomon Mammons, perhaps even a greater mind, (Chi. 18) and even expresses fear that Dandys life will end up worse due to the fact that America is free. There are no walls here to hold back the Jews. (Chi. 18) Rebel Saunders brother, another influence on Danny silent treatment took a different road. He is described by his older brother as proud, haughty, (and) impatient with less brilliant minds. (chi. 18) Rebel Saunders later describes his brother as unable to understand pain. It was indifferent to and impatient with suffering. Chi. 1 8) Of course none of this bothered Rebel Saunders brother at the time, so he followed his aspirations by becoming a mathematician and teaching in a university. Rebel Saunders hopes that his brother would have learned how much suffering there is in this world, (Chi. 18) after his tragic demise in a gas chamber. Danny, unlike the other two characters, is in line to become the addict and lives in America. Clearly, the latter distinction scares Rebel Saunders the most due to the multitude of cultural and social influences that threaten to corrupt his sons retorted life. While the discrepancies between the characters influence Rebel Saunders decision to raise Danny without speaking to him informally, the alikeness of certain traits between Danny, Mammon, and Rebel Saunders brother appear to frighten the rabbi more. One of the most striking parallels between the three is their impatience with suffering. (chi. 1 8) Mammon even abandoned his wife and child during hard times. Likewise, Rebel Saunders attributes his brothers cruelty to Dandys mindset by describing an instance where Danny claims a man is an ignoramus. Rebel Saunders replies angrily that Danny needed to stand in the mans shoes in order to know the pain he (the man) feels because of his ignorance, (Chi. 18) and adds that Danny will not laugh. (Chi. 1 8) Obviously concerned that his son will turn out like his brother who, in the end, was not an observer of the ten commandments, (Chi. 18) Rebel Saunders chooses to raise his son in silence. Other resemblances between the three men contributing to the silence Danny experiences, like a strong desire for knowledge not from the Talmud and an aspiration to teach oneself German, are the breaking point for Rebel Saunders. Although it hurts him dearly as well as Danny, he decides to scarcely talk to his son. In conclusion, the resemblances and uniqueness of Danny, Mammon, and Rebel Saunders brother contribute to Rebel Saunders desperation for a solution. Although the rabbi tries other ways to teach his son compassion, his knowledge of Mammons story and past experiences push him to become detached from his son. The greatness of their minds and thirst for knowledge cause Rebel Saunders to impose this horrible yet seemingly effective method upon Danny.
